Home Heating System Maintenance

The days are getting shorter and the nights are turning cooler. Have you scheduled an annual service appointment with a qualified contractor for your heating system yet?

A clean heating system may reduce fuel expenditure and extend the life of a furnace. It’s best not to wait until your system breaks down to call for service. Annual servicing by a technician may help prevent breakdowns during the winter months that can be inconvenient to you and your family, and downright costly to boot.

Keep in mind, there is something you can do yourself to help maintain your heating system and possibly extend its life:  regularly inspect, clean, or change your system’s air filter. A dirty filter can increase energy costs and damage equipment. If you’re unsure how to replace your filter, here’s a link to a tutorial on replacing a furnace filter from Consumer Reports: https://www.consumerreports.org/home-air-purifiers/how-to-replace-furnace-filters/
